Fortnite update v7.20 went live this morning, and with it came a huge iceberg that was slowly destroyed by players all around the world, ultimately revealing a mysterious hatch.
The giant chunk of ice began with a massive health bar: 5,000,000,000 HP, to be exact. While it took damage slowly at first, its health began to decrease exponentially, likely caused by players across the game coming together to attack the object as a community. After roughly 10 hours, the health bar was whittled down until the thing broke apart, revealing a simple bunker door beneath. The hatch remains on the island south of Happy Hamlet.
While the hatch appears to be without any current use, it is nearly identical to a hatch that appeared in Wailing Woods during Season 4. While many theorized what this hatch would lead to, it ultimately served no purpose. Epic including this hatch beneath the iceberg is either some expert trolling, or the two are somehow connected and will be of use in the future.
