Feral Interactive’s GRID Autosport ($9.99) is still one of the best looking portable racing games. It brought a lot of depth and console quality visuals to iOS a long time ago and has consistently gotten better over time. Unlike some of the other racers on mobile, this one manages to look great without any microtransactions. This is a fully premium game and it gets even better today with patch 1.3.
Version 1.3 has new performance options for iPhone 8 and later devices. These will let you prioritize visuals or performance. The 3rd generation iPad Pro will get ultra high performance with this update. The other enhancement is for replays. You can now hide the UI during replays and also change camera angles for replays. Gamepad controls can now be customised with this update. GRID Autosport also requires iOS 12.1 and later now.
