New Brain Age Announced For Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has announced that a new Brain Age game is to be released for Nintendo Switch, once again featuring the digital face of Dr. Kawashima.

Revealed in a trailer on Nintendo’s YouTube channel, the Japanese language video shows off a new version of Brain Age with activities designed to use the Switch’s specific hardware. For example, the rock, paper, scissors minigame that has been seen in previous Dr. Kawashima games now uses the IR sensor in the joy-con to detect your actual hand, so you can make the shapes yourself.

The same technology is used for a mathematics game, which requires you to show the number of fingers required to solve simple sums.

The trailer also shows multiplayer modes played with one joy-con each, as well as more traditional single-player games that use a stylus, much like the original Nintendo DS games in the series. The stylus will be available on brain Age’s launch day in Japan.
