Blizzard is expanding its extended Overwatch universe into young adult fiction with the release of 'The Hero of Numbani,' a novel centred on Efi Oladele.
Efi represents a significant brick in the foundations of Overwatch lore. The 11 year old robotics expert created Orisa, the bug-but-also-centaur-like defense droid, following Doomfist's attack on Numbani's OR15 security. While Efi isn't a playable character, the novel seeks to flesh out her backstory beyond the lore drops provided around Orisa's launch.
According to an Amazon listing for the book first spotted by Polygon, it seems 'The Hero of Numbani' will dive deep into the story of how exactly Efi engineered Orisa.
