Hideo Kojima is by no means shy about his love of cinema, and while his games have plenty of obvious nods to his favorite movies, what makes his game work is how well they weave his influences into something new and original and usually a little weird
Now, we can’t know exactly what goes on in Kojima’s head, but having played the game, there are certain themes present in Death Stranding that immediately call to mind a few movies, some of which Kojima has posted about on social media, some of which we just have a hunch about.
